The UWHC Patient Services Aide - Senior coordinates work of self and others ensuring that quality work standards! are met by all Patient Services Aide employees. The incumbent coordinates all user activity linked to the computerized dispatch system, Transport Tracking. He/she also receives telephone and computer requests for all patient escort needs, seeking and recording specific information regarding the time, location, patient name, means of transportation, destination, and any other pertinent information.

The incumbent is expected to know and practice all basic hospital safety policies. The UWHC Patient Services Aide ¿ Senior organizes and assigns requests for patient transportation to escort personnel, carries out transport and equipment tasks without direct supervision, and shows evidence of efficient time management skills, effective communication skills and sound basic knowledge of patient needs for comfort and safety during transport.

The UWHC Patient Services Aide -Senior must be able to perform all of the duties of a Patient Services Aide -Objective in th! e Patient Escort Department.

Qualifications

! 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Two (2) years relevant work experience required.
3. CPR certification or ability to receive certification within 60 days of employment required.
4. Ability to motivate a team.
5. Ability to work and communicate effectively (using both written and oral communication) with a variety of individuals that includes hospital staff, nurses, physicians, patients, and their families.
6. Displays efficient time management skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment and make decisions as required.
8. Ability to develop a working knowledge of computerized Transport Tracking system.
9. Ability to stand and walk long distances frequently throughout work shift.
10. Ability to learn and use knowledge of patient-care principles and practices.
11. Ability to project a positive image of UWHC and the services offered.
12. Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up! to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Pay

This is a Represented position and falls into Pay Grade E. The salary range begins at $12.86 per hour. Education, experience, tenure and internal equity may be taken into consideration when job offers are extended.

Work Schedule

100%, Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Weekend rotation required.
