Description: Walworth County, WI is currently seeking to employ Economic Support Specialist Eligibility List right now, this career will be placed in Wisconsin. SCHEDULE INFORMATION

Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Hours/Shift: 8
Shifts Per Pay Period: 10
Position FTE: 1.00 Full-time

Applications are being accepted from current Walworth County employees as well as members of the public.

  • Subject to available State and Federal funding as proposed in the Governer's Biennial (2013-2015) Budget, Human Resources Committee approval at their May 22, 2013 meeting and County Board approval at their June 11, 2013 meeting, up to six full-time project employees will be hired for a period of approximately 18 months upon establishment of this eligibility list. This list will be good for a period of one year.
**The testing date for the required written exam (WI Personnel Partners - ! Social Services/Income Maintenance Worker) for this position w! ill be held on Friday, June 7, 2013. If you are selected to test for this position, you will be notified of the location and time(s) of the exam prior to the exam date. If you have taken this exam in the last six months, your standing score will be provided to us by WI Personnel Partners and you will not be permitted to take the exam again.

***Interviews for this position will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 and Friday, June 21, 2013 for those that pass the written exam.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Please note: Many of these duties will be performed as an agent in the Moraine Lakes Call Center. Conduct intake and review interviews with clients to verify information necessary to process cases for Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share, Child Care and other economic support servi! ces either in person or by phone. Inform clients of their rights and need to report changes within proper guidelines and distributing appropriate pamphlets for client information. Provide quality customer service by answering client's questions, explaining programs and eligibility requirements and following up on alerts and other client requests within specific time frames. Complete ongoing casework that includes maintaining an electronic case file, data entry, document verification and alert management within specific time frames. Enter client data into CARES and other state and local computer systems. Maintain required written documentation in files and computer systems as required by program guidelines. Refer clients to other available resources such as social workers, homeless prevention project, food pantries, community health nurses and mental health, etc. Participate in internal meetings, training workshops and seminars as required or mandated by the state.

Education and/or Experience
High School plus two additional years of formal preparation and two to three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred (required for some positions).

Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise.

Valid Wisc! onsin driver’s license.
Proof of minimum liability insurance coverage.
