Trauma and Life Support
The Trauma Life Support Center (TLC) consists of a an interdisciplinary t! eam of health care professionals delivering comprehensive care for patients and families with complex medical or surgical illnesses as well as severe traumatic injuries. Together with physicians, respiratory therapists and pharmacists, nurses utilize advanced technologies and therapies, cutting-edge ventilatory management and provide sophisticated interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes in this 24-bed ICU. TLC offers motivated nurses an opportunity to gain advanced knowledge and skills in a supportive academic environment that fosters the development of critical care and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong continuing education program supported by both medicine and nursing.

Qualifications

Education:
1. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Work Experience:
1. One year relevant clinical experience required.
2. Recent ICU experience with adult populations preferred.

Licenses & Certificati! ons:
1. Registration as a professional nurse in the St! ate of Wisconsin required.
2. CPR and ACLS certification required.
3. TNCC, CCRN certifications preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.
2. Experience in teaching patients and families.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other nursing team members.

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Special Requirements

1. One year current med/surg ICU experience required.
2. Two years med/surg ICU experience preferred.

Pay

This is a Represented position and falls into Pay Grade 6FR. The salary range begins at $29.08 per hour. Education, experience, tenure and internal equity may be taken into consideration when job offer! s are extended.

Work Schedule

90%, Evening/Night, 8/12 hours shifts, A weekend rotation. Hours may vary based on operational needs of the department.
