Professional nursing work involving the delivery and supervision of resident care on an assigned nursing unit(s) in a skilled nursing home facility under the direction of the Director of Nursing and! Unit Team Manager. The employee performs the full scope of professional nursing functions within the parameters of professional licensure and standards of practice. Emphasis is on daily supervision and leadership provided to subordinate nursing service and ancillary personnel to assure an optimal quality within the framework of available nursing resources. Work is reviewed by the unit Team Manager on the basis of quality of patient care, absence or presence of complaints, interaction between the Nurse and persons supervised, residents, families and on the basis of patient care plans, patient records, and relative absence of medication errors.

Positions available from occasional hours to 32 hours per week, various shifts are open with an every other weekend requirement. The openings are on our Nursing Units of Mount View Care Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and registration as a RN as required by the Wisco! nsin State Board of Nursing.

Specialized training or ! acquiring specialized training, or have had experience in areas such as nursing service administration, restorative nursing, psychiatric nursing, or geriatric nursing.

Certified in CPR.

No prior record of felony conviction for crimes relating to harm/abuse to another person, theft, or issue or misappropriation of a legal or illegal drug.

Must pass criminal background check.

Must be physically able to perform work duties.

Must be able to follow written and oral direction in English.

Must provide proof of employment eligibility.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Assesses, evaluates, reports, and documents on resident status and plans appropriate nursing care. Implements care utilizing the team resources available including other nurses, resident, guardian/family, interdisciplinary team, etc.

Delegates tasks to and supervises ancillary nursing personnel. Conducts report, assigns/reassigns work to team members! during the course of a shift according to resident needs. Flexes break and meal times as needed.

Assists ancillary personnel with direct patient care, provides direct patient care within time management limits, including but not limited to: passing medications, treatments, assessments, documentation and physician orders in accordance with resident̢۪s care plan to assure residents̢۪ needs are met, answering call lights.

Supervises and directs employees in the nursing department during the course of assigned shift. Provides feedback to those individuals supervised. Monitors and directs or redirects daily performance of employees. Participates in annual evaluations of personnel supervised. Identifies training needs of employees.

Ensures adherence to facility policies/procedures. Implements disciplinary action up to and including suspension for failure to follow established department or facility policies or procedures or for any work-related perfo! rmance issue.

Promotes positive customer and team relations th! rough effective communication, maintenance of confidentiality, and prompt response to patient, family, and staff concerns. Respectful of co-workers. Utilizes chain of command. Keeps Team Manager informed of unit issues, etc. Maintains a positive attitude and a willingness to accept change.

Demonstrates effective management skills as a team member within the collaborative Mount View Care Center. Demonstrates competence in meeting established unit and state standards of nursing practice. Engages in professional self-improvement opportunities within and outside the facility.

Participates in cross training for other units to maximize flexibility and efficient utilization of resources.

Exhibits good time management skills.

COMPENSATION:
Competitive hourly wage based on Market Average and experience.
