Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Nursing Services Manager, the Nursing Service Educator will be responsible for conducting, developing, coordinating, and implementing system-wide nursing staff, education, competency standards and leadership development. This includes defining and implementing standards of care and quality assurance, as well as the development and review of nursing policy and procedures. The objective is to foster a culture of nursing and healthcare professional growth, advancement, quality ass! urance, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field with 5 years of nursing experience in a leadership role in a hospital or clinic setting OR an Associate degree in nursing or related field with 10 years of nursing experience, with 5 of those years in a leadership role in a hospital or clinic setting.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Knowledge regarding principles of nursing practice and the nursing process, theory and education.
Previous experience in performance and development of clinical competency testing, orientation and nursing skills development
Previous experience in the development of nursing policies/procedures.
Thorough knowledge of the principles of adult education and learning strategies.
Ability to develop, implement and evaluate training models and curriculums.
Experience in project management and nursing leadership.
Professional demeanor and sound public speaking c! apabilities.
Ability to travel to various Dean Clinic locations.
Preferred:
Previous experience with quality improvement principles
Previous adult education experience.
Masters in Nursing Education or related field

Responsibilities:
Provides nursing leadership to the clinical operations team on all nursing related issues.
Participates in the clinical reengineering projects offering expertise in the design and implementation of both operational and medical management projects including nursing staffing redesign.
Participate in and oversees the development of the training provided to nursing services staff both licensed and unlicensed.
Paticipates in, oversees, directs and manages the PCA program. Supervises the employees while they are participating in the program.
Oversees and participates in the orientation and credentialing for the new staff.
Oversees ! and participates in the skills and competency assessment for all nursing services staff.
In coordination with the Office of Medical Affairs, establishes best evidence-based nursing practices along with the standards and policies that support these practices.
Provides nursing expertise to Dean Clinic and SMDV when questions of scope of practice or staff competency arise.
Oversight for nursing regulations, licensing and scope of practice.
Organizes and coordinates community high school, technical college and university educational and mentoring opportunities for students interested or enrolled in health car related programs.
Represents the Dean Clinic face of nursing in the community.
Assists in the preparation and oversight of the budget as it relates to nursing service.
Is an active participant/chair of committees and task forces as they related to nursing service.
Facilitate and manage projects/respons! ibilities as assigned by the Nursing Services Manager.

Salary Range
The minimum salary is $61,734.00 per year. Several factors are considered when determining final compensation.
