Responsibilities:
Manages the care of artificial insemination (AI) and in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Monitors and tracks the patient through treatment to ensure quality care is admi! nistered and to respond to patient issues and/or concerns. Dev! elops and maintains a partnership with the patient and family to facilitate and/or navigate through subsequent treatment and follow-up.
Provides emotional support to patients and family members throughout course of treatment. Uses the nursing process to provide ongoing care (assess, plan, intervention, evaluation), according to the age specific and developmental needs of a patient. Collaborates with outside physicians and facilities to coordinate care for shared patients.
Performs follow-up consultations with patient/couple to discuss treatment options as recommended by physician. Performs physician-approved procedures (i.e. intrauterine inseminations). Performs ultrasound evaluations of follicular growth, monitors estradiol levels, and monitors and/or changes medication protocols as directed by physician. Recovers patients after procedures.
Assists with collection of specimens. Receives and maintains laboratory, radiology, and other test results. Communicate re! sults to physicians and patients. Assess patient, family, and/or significant others educational needs and provides teaching/counseling. Provides patient education regarding procedures, surgery, ART, and/or any questions with regard to patient care.
Presents Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology topics to community and facilitates support groups. Maintains quality standards on equipment, supplies and medications. Develops and maintains policies and procedures in relation to nursing care and IVF program. Coordinates, and assists physicians with, office procedures, patient education, and follow-up visits. May assist with scheduling of appointments, surgery and outpatient testing; forwards patient chart to appropriate individual for insurance precertification of operative procedures.
Acts as an expert clinical and department resource. Acts as an organizational nursing resource to students, staff, physicians and leadership on equipment management and related disorde! rs. Assists in the development and implementation of staff orientation,! competency and educational activities. Participates in related policy and procedure development, clinical research, clinical topic conferences or serve as a member of interdisciplinary committees or advisory boards.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). May obtain within 6 months based on department discretion Associate's degree in Nursing.
Requires 3 years of experience in nursing that includes experiences in women’s health and/or obstetrics and gynecology.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.
Demonstrated ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions.
Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
Dem! onstrated leadership skills including delegation, organization, prioritization and building team rapport.
Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.

Scheduled Hours:
Casual position, no guaranteed hours, however this RN works on average 32-40 hours per pay period filling in PTO for nurses in both Maternal Fetal Medicine and Fertility.
Weekdays: Day shift, Maternal Fetal Medicine 8:00am to 4:30pm and Fertility 7:00am to 3:30pm
Weekends: May be asked to be back up, but rare for Fertility
No on-call or holidays
