JOB SUMMARY
Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Makes a positive first impression on any person utilizing the Prevea Clinic services whether on the phone or in person.
Required Skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (This may not include all duties assigned.)
Enter insurance information for pa! tients of Prevea Health. Obtain accurate demographic and insur! ance/coverage information.
Inform patients of the variety of financial services that are offered by the Prevea Health.
Educate patients regarding credit and billing processes and explain financial expectations of the clinic to the patient.
Work closely with patient accounts regarding patients who are negligent on their bill.
Collect any required payments in accordance with Preveaâs policies and procedures.
Discuss any credit concerns regarding a past due account and make special arrangements if necessary to receive payment in a timely manner.
Complete site deposit to include all PSR deposits.
Oversight of main operating cash for site. Bank runs for any change that cannot be made through the overnight deposit flow.
Follow up on accounts with billing questions or concerns.
Complete assigned Work queue on a daily basis.
Review schedules for any potential work comp and complete work comp! process.
Work closely with triage and nursing to ensure timely completion of all insurance requirements for appointments.
Schedule appointments for patients.
Confirm/schedule appointments using Phytel.

Ability to work with patients of all ages in a courteous and professional manner. Must be empathetic, yet, responsive to patientâs needs.
Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team.
Ability to tactfully work with patients with past due accounts.
Knowledge of claims filing requirements.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient informaiton and take appropriate messages.
Ability to answer the telephone in a pleasant, timely and helpful manner.
Ability to speak clearly, concisely and professionally.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructio! n.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relatio! nships with patients, employees and the public.
Ability to multi-task in and efficient and effective manner.
Assertive and self directed.
Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner.
Must be willing to work at all locations, various shifts and extended hours as needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Experience in customer service, insurance and/or healthcare setting preferred.
Medical Terminology course preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medical Assistance, and other third party payers.
Knowledge of CPT/ICD9 codes and usual and customary charges.
Knowledge of claims filing requirements.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in an office environment. Some bending and stretching is required. Working with occasional stress and the ability to adapt to continuous change is required. Use o! f telephone and computers are required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office environment. Involves continual contact with staff and the public. Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
