Part-time Charge Nurse Position ! Surgical/Pediatrics Unit.

As a charge nurse, you will provide leadership to staff and patient care situations. You will assist the department manager with day to day operations as delegated.

Responsibilities will include:
Follow nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and patient teaching.

Participate in cost saving measures

Provide clinical consultation to all caregivers and provide direct clinical intervention to patients as needed.

Adjust staffing according to staffing protocols

Utilize hospital policies and procedures in performance, and participates in development and implementation of new policies and procedures

Promotes service excellence by role modeling service initiatives and monitoring staff compliance in completion of expected behaviors

Completes patient rounds on a regular basis

Motivates others to best performance

Mediates conflict between patients, families, physicians, and other departments

Collaborates with staff, physicians and other disciplines in coordinating patien! t care in an effective and timely manne

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current Wisconsin RN license

Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Certification (ACLS) within one year of hire. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) for 5 East Charge Nurses within two years of employment.

Minimum of 2 years Medical/Surgical nursing experience

Previous experience in supervisory/leadership role preferred.
