. This is a new and exciting opportunity where you will function both as a direct patient care provider and registration representative.

Casual position/as needed, variable shifts, including some weekends and holidays.

As an

Admitting Representative

(EMT-Basic or CNA)

you will function as a registration representative collecting demographic and insurance information, entering this information into Meditech. You are also a vital member of the patient care team. As a technician or EMT-Basic you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and will be responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct patient care activities and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient outcomes are achieved.

As an Admitting Representative (EMT-Basic or CNA), you will:
Obtain patient demographics and insurance information and signatures on all financial forms and enter this information into Meditech.

Work collaboratively with the providers to ensure that we are processing patients and initiating interventions in an efficient and timely manner.

Assist with orthopedic procedures: apply knee immobilizers, soft collars, slings, splints etc.

Assist with wound care.

Lift and transport patients.

Monitor vital signs.

Set up instrument trays according to procedure and physician preference.

Enter orders and messages into the computer.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent.

Graduate of an approved EMT or Nursing Assistant program required.

Current National Registration of Emergency Medical Technicians and current Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician licensure or current certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Wisconsin is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 3 months of hire.

Previous EMT or CNA experience preferred.
