A clinically competent, Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility for planning, development, organization, implementation, and ev! aluation of Quality and staff development programs including the infection prevention and control program, in accordance with current federal, state, BHS and facility standards. The Quality and Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the education of all staff, and for the supervision of all staff in relation to quality improvement, infection prevention and control practices. Gives direct supervision to nursing department personnel. Assures that all elements of the BHS Quality Program are integrated into facility operations according to BHS recommendations and/or federal and state regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
Qualifications Required Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, which must be in good standing Possess skills in leadership and communication At least two years experience in LTC Must be able to read, write and communicate in English Must be able to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA) Qualifications Preferred Clinical and teac! hing experience preferred Membership in APIC Ability to commun! icate effectively both written and verbally Knowledge of federal and state licensing systems is preferred Ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint Ability to develop skills in utilization of EHR programs for training and performance monitoring Cognitive or Mental Requirements of the Job Is required to collect, interpret and report on facility performance data to support quality improvement. Able to plan, implement and evaluate staff development approaches aimed at performance improvement. Must be able to implement changes as needed for prevention and control of infectious diseases. Is organized, open to new ideas and able to relate to a diverse workforce. Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and work as a group member as required.
Skills and Abilities:
Staff development: Plans, develops and educates all staff on all Federal, State and facility education requirements. Establishes and implements a comprehensive orientation p! rogram for facility personnel. Plans, implements and evaluates an ongoing education program for nurses, NA/Rs and all other facility personnel based on educational needs as identified in performance reviews, education needs survey, solicits input from managers concerning training needs and new topics in healthcare. Manages all aspects of the facility Infection Control Program including prevention projects, facilitation of prevention and control meetings, disease outbreaks, development of policies and procedures, and review and update Infection Control Manual on an annual basis. Develops, maintains and secures records of education for all employees. Collaborates with other departments in employee recruitment, orientation, education and retention. Attends education opportunities for personal development and to maintain professional competency in both Staff Development and Infection Control. QUALITY: Assures that all elements of the BHS Quality Program are integrated into faci! lity operations according to BHS recommendations and/or federal and sta! te regulatory guidelines. Completes the Quality Matrix annually with the DON and Administrator to assess integration, results forwarded to corporate Director of Quality. Maintains copies of all needed documents including meeting minutes. Participates in the process of developing, implementing and evaluating facility goals, objectives, standards of practice and care, and facility policies and procedures. Participates in the quality improvement process. Ensures measures from the BHS Dashboard and pillar metrics are reviewed, analyzed, trended and improved.
