Travel Nusing Opportunity available in Madison ,WI.Cardiac and Thoracic Surge! ry, Heart and Lung Transplant B4/5 is an acuity adaptable unit focused on cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery and heart/lung transplantation. Patients on this 27 bed unit can be ICU, Intermediate (IMC) or General care status. Most patients are admitted following scheduled surgical interventions for coronary artery bypass, valve replacement or repair, thoracotomy/wedge resection, pneumonectomy, lobectomy or esophagogastrectomy. Patients are also admitted for heart transplantation, lung transplantation, and medical management following lung transplant. In addition, the unit admits patients who require a ventricular assist device (VAD). Nursing staff on this acuity adaptable unit care for a variety of patient populations and acuity levels at various points in the hospital stay.
